No. 2 LSU Survives Auburn 12-10
Published at(AUBURN, AL) — No.2 LSU survived a scare when they outlasted Auburn 12-10 on the road Saturday night.
Kicker Drew Alleman nailed a 30-yard field goal in the third quarter to give the Tigers the lead and they never looked back.
The offense struggled as quarterback Zach Mettenberger was 15-of-27 for 169 yards and no touchdowns.
Auburn running back Tre Mason was tackled in his own endzone by Sam Montgomery for a safety in the first quarter, giving LSU (4-0) a 2-0 lead.
The LSU Tigers added to the lead with running back Michael Ford scoring on a one-yard touchdown run to make it 9-0.
Auburn (1-3) answered with 10 unanswered points to take a 10-9 lead into halftime, but it was unable to score in the second half.
