Report: UConn Head Coach Jim Calhoun Retiring
Published at(NEW YORK) — Connecticut head men’s basketball coach Jim Calhoun is expected to announce his retirement at a news conference Thursday afternoon, according to ESPN.com.
“He has been such a consistent winner against big-time competition,” ESPN college basketball analyst Dick Vitale said of Calhoun’s legacy.
Assistant head coach Kevin Ollie is expected to replace the 70-year-old Calhoun.
During his 26 seasons roaming the sidelines at UConn, Calhoun led the Huskies to three national championships.
