Romney spent much of his time in New Hampshire last week, prepping for his October debates with President Obama. He explained then that he wasn’t interested in watching the convention nor the speeches.

However, the GOP presidential nominee told NBC’s Meet the Press Sunday, during his first appearance on the program since 2009, that former President Bill Clinton seemed to outdo Obama at the event in Charlotte, North Carolina.

According to Romney, Clinton “really did elevate the Democrat convention in a lot of ways. And frankly, the contrast may not have been as attractive as Barack Obama might have preferred if he were choosing who’d go before him and who’d go after.”

Asked if Clinton could get elected today, if the Constitution was re-amended to allow it, Romney acknowledged that it was a possibility.

On a completely different topic, the Republican candidate said that if he wins in November, he’ll roll back the automatic spending cut known as sequestration, which would greatly cut the Pentagon’s budget, as a way to trim the federal deficit.

Romney also conceded that Republicans in Congress made a mistake in going along with the plan that would go into effect at the beginning of 2013.
