Shakira Expecting First Child

RCA Records(NEW YORK) — Shakira’s womb doesn’t lie — the singer is expecting her first child.
In a message on her Facebook page, Shakira writes, “As some of you may know, Gerard and I are very happy awaiting the arrival of our first baby! At this time we have decided to give priority to this unique moment in our lives and postpone all the promotional activities planned over the next few days … Big kiss! And will see you very soon!”
The baby daddy is Gerard Piqué, a center back who plays for the FC Barcelona soccer team, as well as for Spain’s national soccer team. She officially confirmed their relationship on March 29, 2011, when she posted a picture of the two of them on her Twitter and Facebook accounts.
Shakira was due to perform at a music festival this weekend in Las Vegas but has now canceled those plans. It’s unclear how her pregnancy will affect her plans to fill in for Cee Lo Green on the next season of The Voice.
