“The X Factor:” Britney’s Nervous and a Kardashian Could Host

D Dipasupil/FilmMagic(LOS ANGELES) — Britney Spears will be showing fans a different side of her when she joins the judges’ panel on the second season of X Factor. Spears admitted on Tuesday’s The Ellen DeGeneres Show that she was a bit overwhelmed.
“I was really nervous,” she told host Ellen DeGeneres. “You have all these people behind you and they’re rooting you on. And it’s a really exciting, electric thing to do. But after we got out there…we just had fun.”
Even so, executive producer and fellow judge Simon Cowell said Spears has developed a reputation for being “mean.” According to People magazine, Cowell said, “She has taken this very seriously and she’s surprisingly quite mean. In the past we’ve had judges that never say no, [but] she can’t say no quick enough on this show.”
Spears defended her judging style Tuesday, telling DeGeneres, “I prefer to be honest. I think that’s the best way to go because I wouldn’t want to be told something and then waste seven years of my life.”
Cowell also confirmed a report that reality star Khloe Kardashian may be the next X Factor host. When pressed further, Cowell said he prefers the 28-year-old reality star over a seasoned host.
“I think that would work. I’m quite a fan of not putting hosts on this show because I think it’s going to give it a different dynamic so we’ve gotta find people who’ve got a great chemistry,” he said. “Khloe is definitely up there in the running.”
