The result, “U Didn’t Build That by MC ‘Bama,” is a parody of a key moment of the 2012 presidential campaign. Republicans have seized on the president’s comment, made at a rally in Roanoke, Va., in July, as evidence that he doesn’t respect small business. Democrats, meanwhile, have defended his point that businesses benefit from organized society and public works funded by taxes. The president was making his case for higher taxes on wealthier Americans to fund greater government investments in education and infrastructure to boost the middle class.

“If you were successful, somebody along the line gave you some help,” Obama said at the rally in Roanoke. “There was a great teacher somewhere in your life.  Somebody helped to create this unbelievable American system that we have that allowed you to thrive.  Somebody invested in roads and bridges. If you’ve got a business, you didn’t build that.  Somebody else made that happen.  The Internet didn’t get invented on its own.  Government research created the Internet so that all the companies could make money off the Internet.”

But the new video, which syncs shots of Michelle Obama’s dancing, isolates the “You didn’t build that” comment.

The video was posted by Hugh Atkin, an Australian lawyer who has been in the viral political video business since 2008. Atkin is bipartisan in his satire. He uploaded in March “Will the Real Mitt Romney Please State Up,” set to Eminem’s “The Real Slim Shady.” That video has been viewed more than 4 million times.
