(1) Alabama Tops Tennessee, 44-13
Published at(KNOXVILLE, Tenn.) — Crimson Tide junior quarterback A.J. McCarron tossed a career-high 306 yards and four touchdowns Saturday night as (1) Alabama (7-0, 4-0 SEC) pounded Tennessee (3-4, 0-4 SEC), 44-13.
McCarron put Alabama on the board first, connecting with freshman wide receiver Amari Cooper on a 23 yard touchdown pass to give the Crimson Tide a 7-0 lead with 8:18 left in the opening quarter. The pair would hook up again late in the third quarter on a 42-yard touchdown pass, giving Alabama a 30-10 lead.
Alabama freshman running back T.J. Yeldon rushed for 129 yards and two touchdowns on 15 carries; marking the second consecutive game he has gained at least 100 yards.
The Volunteers are now 0-14 against Top 25 ranked opponents under head coach Derek Dooley.
