Astros Introduce New Manager Bo Porter
Published at(HOUSTON) — The Houston Astros introduced Bo Porter as their new manager on Thursday. He will replace the fired Brad Mills.
The 40-year-old Porter was previously the third base coach of the Washington Nationals. The Astros hired him last month, but he wasn’t able to join the club until the Nationals’ postseason run ended.
“The roster excites me,” Porter said at a news conference. “The possibility of developing a young team and sustaining that excellence for a long time is what I look forward to.”
It is Porter’s first managerial job.
