Final Photos of Aurora Shooting Victim Stolen

Joshua Lott/Getty Images(DENVER) — For Robert Sullivan, it is a heartbreaking insult on top of an already horrible nightmare.
Sullivan’s granddaughter, Veronica Moser Sullivan, was the youngest person killed in the movie theater massacre in Aurora, Colorado. He says the last pictures ever taken of the smiling six-year-old were stolen in an apparent burglary.
“There’s a huge hole in my heart from the loss of my granddaughter, and it seems to be getting ripped more,” Sullivan told Denver ABC affiliate KMGH-TV.
Sullivan says burglars pried open a window Tuesday morning to get inside his Denver home, taking money, jewelry and cameras. Memory cards in the cameras had irreplaceable images of Veronica at her kindergarten graduation, playing at a park and eating ice cream. Sullivan says he just wants the memory cards back, and does not believe the thieves meant to take the photos.
“Anybody who has any connection or any knowledge of this, please return the memory cards,” Sullivan told KMGH. “I’m not sure what the future holds, but I keep hoping things will get better.”
Twelve people were killed and 58 were wounded July 20 when a gunman opened fire at a crowded midnight showing of The Dark Knight Rises at the Century 16 theater.
Veronica’s mother, Ashley Moser, was paralyzed when she was shot in the neck and stomach.
James Holmes, 24, is in custody, facing 152 counts of murder, attempted murder and additional charges. His public defenders believe Holmes is mentally ill. He has not entered a plea.
