Chris Trotman/Getty Images(GAINESVILLE, Fla.)  —  Florida (No. 2 BCS, No. 3 AP) had no trouble with South Carolina, crushing the Gamecocks (No. 7 BCS, No. 9 AP) 44-11.

Jeff Driskel threw four touchdown passes for the Gators, with three of them coming off of South Carolina turnovers.  His four touchdowns also only came on 11 pass attempts.  He finished the game 11-of-16 for 97 yards.

The win improved the Gators’ 2012 record to 7-0, matching its win total from last season.

There are already postseason implications in this game.  Florida and its 6-0 conference record can clinch a spot in the SEC Championship Game by beating No. 13 Georgia next week.

The Gators’ defense held the Gamecocks to just 191 total yards, including an impressive minus-1 yards in the 3rd quarter.

Star running back Marcus Lattimore did not start the game because of a hip injury.  He managed only three carries for 13 yards.

South Carolina lost its second straight game and fell to 6-2 overall, 4-2 in the SEC.
