The Falcons overcame a sloppy game by quarterback Matt Ryan to improve their record to 6-0 and extend their best start in franchise history.

Ryan threw three interceptions in the win and struggled against the Raiders’ defense.  His one touchdown pass of the game went to receiver Roddy White, who is continuing his huge season for the unbeaten birds.

Atlanta took the lead when cornerback Asante Samuel picked off a Carson Palmer pass and returned it 79 yards for a touchdown with under three minutes remaining.  Palmer led the Raiders (1-4) down the field and Darren McFadden punched in a touchdown from two yards out to tie the game at 20.

With 40 seconds remaining, Ryan made some plays to get the Falcons down the field and set up the game-winning field goal from Bryant.

McFadden finished with 70 rushing yards and a touchdown for Oakland.
