The Giants are now one game away from winning their second championship in three years.

Giants starter Ryan Vogelsong scattered five hits across 5 2-3 innings of work. Tim Lincecum pitched 2 1-3 innings of relief while Sergio Romo picked up his second save of the series.

“Don’t really have to tell them anything, they know, they can count” Tigers manager Jim Leyland says of his squad facing elimination in Game 4. “We are down three games to zero. There’s no secret formula or message for them, they’re big guys, and they know what the situation is.”

The Tigers offense is batting .165 in the series, totaling three runs and 15 hits.
