The two-time Oscar winner will begin a limited engagement at the Broadhurst Theatre on April 1, 2012, with previews starting one month prior to that date.

The story of Lucky Guy is told by the character of Mike McAlary — to be played by Hanks — a charismatic and controversial tabloid columnist in New York City in the 1980s.

Hanks starred in two Nora Ephron-directed movies, Sleepless in Seattle and You’ve Got Mail.

Ephron, an award-winning screenwriter, playwright and director, died in June following a battle with acute myeloid leukemia.  She was 71.
