80% of Idaho Teachers Receiving Merit-Pay Bonus
Published at | Updated atAMMON – Nearly 80 percent of Idaho’s teachers are receiving merit-pay bonuses in spite of the “Luna Laws” being struck down earlier this month.
Local News 8 reports that 499 schools statewide qualified for pay-for-performance checks totaling $38 million. In the Bonneville School District, where 97 percent of teachers qualified for the bonus, the average payout is about $5,000 before taxes and retirement.
Most teachers earning the bonus will likely receive their checks by Dec. 15.
