Idaho Falls Police Chief Stepping Down

(IDAHO FALLS) – Idaho Falls Police Chief Steve Roos is stepping down after 31 years with the department.

Roos announced his retirement Wednesday, after five years of service as chief.
Roos and his wife are relocating to Brazil. Roos said he will be volunteering there as an English teacher.
Mayor Jared Fuhriman has announced Capt. Mark McBride will take the reigns as interim chief until a replacement can be found.
The chief’s associates praised Roos’ work with other agencies for the good of the community.
