Jesse Jackson Jr.’s Continued Troubles
Published at(WASHINGTON) — Jesse Jackson Jr. resigned his seat in the House this week, citing his bipolar disorder, but he still has other troubles.
While Jackson says his health issues and treatment are “incompatible” with service in the House, his resignation letter also references the FBI investigation he faces into his use of campaign funds. Jackson’s attorneys say it could be months before the matter is resolved.
Also, the House Ethics Committee has also been probing Jackson’s ties to imprisoned former Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich. The committee can no longer sanction Jackson, but it can issue a final report.
