AK 47 Bandit

(REXBURG, ID)  — The FBI believes the man who robbed East Idaho Credit Union in Rexburg Wednesday is linked to other robberies in California and Washington.  Officials are calling the suspect the “AK-47 Bandit” because of his use of an assault rifle during heists. During the first incident in Chino, Calif. on February 29, the man shot and seriously wounded a police officer. The suspect reportedly locked bank employees and customers in a safe before fleeing Wednesday. The FBI is offering a $50,000 award for information leading to the man’s arrest. East Idaho Credit Union is offering an additional $20,000.
