Published at(CHICAGO) — The Chicago Bulls and forward Taj Gibson agreed to a four-year, $38 million extension after the Bulls’ 93-87 win over the Sacramento Kings Wednesday night.
Gibson was set to become a free agent after the season.
“I looked at the numbers,” Gibson said. “That’s a lot of money. I can’t really turn down that much money. Especially for the security, you never know what can happen all through the year.”
The 27-year-old Gibson is entering his fourth NBA season, all with the Bulls. He’s averaged 7.9 points, 6.2 rebounds and 1.3 blocks per game for his career serving mainly as a bench player.
