“What we can find is that the individual that committed the violent acts was not a student of the college, but that there was a known relationship between all three of them,” Casper Police Chief Chris Walsh said Friday.

An advisory posted on the school’s website early Friday said, “All classes and activities are cancelled until further notice.” It continues, “DO NOT TRAVEL TO CAMPUS!”

The alert was later revised to say, “Campus travel is now permitted.”

Casper College is a two-year community college in Wyoming’s second-largest city located about 250 miles northwest of Denver. The school’s website says “approximately 5,000 students from all over Wyoming, 35-plus states and 20 foreign countries” attend the college.
