Wells says he will use this Sunday’s game as an “audition for a job somewhere else,” he said on Monday.

This season, Wells has just 234 rushing yards on 88 attempts (2.7 yards per carry), and has failed to live up to his breakout 2011 season where he ran for 1,047 yards while scoring ten touchdowns.

“That’s my mindset,” Wells told the Arizona Republic. “I’m just going to go out there and put my best foot forward for all the other 31 teams that’s watching.”

The 24-year old Wells is actually under contract for next season, but more than thinks his days are numbered with the team.

Wells was the Cardinals first-round pick in the 2009 draft, but has ran for over 400 yards in a season just twice in five seasons.
