Chargers Place Floyd, Matthews and Wells on IR
Published at(SAN DIEGO) — San Diego Chargers receiver Malcom Floyd, running back Ryan Matthews and offensive lineman Reggie Wells were all placed on the injured reserve list Tuesday, officially ending their seasons.
The three players were hurt in the Chargers’ loss Sunday to the Carolina Panthers.
Floyd suffered an ankle injury in the game. He currently leads the Chargers in receptions and receiving yards. He has also caught five touchdowns for the season.
Matthews broke his left clavicle. The 25-year-old running back leads the Chargers in rushing yards with 707 and also caught 39 passes for 252 yards this season.
Wells has ankle and toe injuries. He started the last two games at right tackle for the Bolts.
The Chargers were officially eliminated from the playoffs last Sunday.
