Idaho State Police news release
Shortly after 9:30 a.m. this morning, the Idaho State Police investigated a three-vehicle crash in which one person was injured.

Bryson Taylor, 16, of Idaho Falls, slid off the road while traveling south on Interstate 15 at milepost 109, about one mile north of the Shelly exit, and was stopped on the side of the road.

Steven Lambert, 50, of Firth, had stopped his Pontiac Grand Prix and was outside the vehicle assisting Taylor. Brooke Cox, 43, of Ammon, was a passenger in Lambert’s Pontiac. She had exited the vehicle to assist Taylor and then re-entered the Pontiac and was seated.

At that time, Alec Scott, 61, of Blackfoot, was attempting to pass a snowplow when he lost control of his Dodge pickup and collided with Lambert’s Pontiac. The Pontiac was pushed off the shoulder of the road while Scott’s pickup continued into the left lane of travel where it collided with a Lexus SUV driven by Mikel McBride, 43, of Blackfoot.

Cox was transported to Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center in Idaho Falls by ground ambulance.  It is unknown if she was wearing her seatbelt at the time of the crash. Scott and McBride were wearing their seatbelts.

The crash is still under investigation.
