Dodgers Sign RHP Greinke to Six-Year Contract
Published at(LOS ANGLES) — The Los Angeles Dodgers signed free agent right-handed pitcher Zach Greinke to a six-year contract, the club announced Monday night. The deal is worth $147 million, according to ESPN.
“As we set out this offseason to add a front line pitcher who is capable and proven, Zach was the one we zeroed in on,” said Dodgers general manager Ned Coletti. “We are very pleased to add a second pitcher who has won a Cy Young award to this rotation and organization. We believe he brings a lot to this team and to a pitching staff that was already very good.”
The 29-year-old Greinke split last season between the Brewers and Angels in which he went 15-5 with a 3.48 ERA in 34 starts.
