Reed avoided a one-game suspension, but still had to pay a $50,000 fine for his hit on Steelers wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders in November.

“I just play the game,” Reed told The Baltimore Sun on Thursday before the fine was announced. “I let them make those decisions.”

Cruz said after the game that he believed the hit was legal.  This is Reed’s fourth illegal hit over the past three seasons.

“It’s tough, full-speed, the whole thing,” Ravens head coach John Harbaugh said. “I hope the league really takes a look at this in the offseason and figures out a way to help the players out a little bit. It’s been a real challenge so far this year.”

The Ravens will take on the Bengals on Sunday before heading into the playoffs.
