Former Employee Crashes Through Offices With Forklift

(POCATELLO) – A former SME Steel employee caused extensive damage to the Pocatello facility Thursday morning.

Shawn Hatch, 35, allegedly broke into the building on West Quinn at about 3:30 a.m.

Hatch crashed forklifts through walls and ransacked offices, destroying the personal items of his former coworkers in the process.

Police later tracked down Hatch at his home where they found evidence linking him to the crime and previous burglaries at the business.

Hatch faces multiple felony counts of vandalism, burglary, and possession of stolen property.
