(LEMHI COUNTY) – Idaho State Police have completed their investigation into the death of Karri Stephanishen.
Stephanishen had been arrested on Oct. 31 on possession of methamphetamine when she became unresponsive. Police took her to Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center, where she died the next day.
Officials reported Stephanishen had tried to harm herself with the seat belt in the patrol car, but family members called for an investigation since Stephanishen was handcuffed the whole time.
Authorities say they will release their findings on Monday.
