“Modern Family” Star’s Mom Sues for Defamation

ABC/JORDIN ALTHAUS(LOS ANGELES) — Chrisoula Workman — the mother of Modern Family co-star Ariel Winter who lost custody of her 14-year-old actress daughter over abuse allegations — has fired a legal salvo related to the situation, E! reports.
According to a defamation lawsuit filed in a Los Angeles courtroom on Monday, Workman is targeting Matthew Borlenghi, who called her “an abusive monster” in a posting on the Los Angeles Times website.
Borlenghi is reportedly an associate of Shanelle Gray, Winter’s adult sister. Gray was awarded temporary custody of her sister in November, when Los Angeles child protective authorities reportedly found evidence that Workman was emotionally abusive to the Modern Family star.
