This will be Edwards’ second stint with Gang Green, having played with them from 2009-10.

“It feels great to be going home,” Edwards tweeted. “Thanks to all of Jet nation that continuously supported me and pushed for me. I’m back and it’s go time.”

Last week, the 29-year-old Edwards ripped the Jets front office for the way they handle the benching of starting quarterback Mark Sanchez during their victory over the Arizona Cardinals. He tweeted, “Don’t blame Sanchez, I played there. Blame the idiots calling shots. Mark is a beast and will prove it when given a proper chance.”

In 109 career games, Edwards has 349 receptions, 5,397 yards and 40 touchdowns.
