(CINCINNATI) — The Cincinnati Reds finalized a two-year contract with free agent infielder Jack Hannahan on Thursday. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Hannahan explained his job would be to, “Be able to come in and really do whatever they ask me to,” at a news conference at Great American Ball Park. “That’s play every day, or if that’s to come off the bench late and hit, jump in the game late and play defense, I’m ready for anything.”
Last season with the Cleveland Indians, Hannahan batted .244 with four home runs and 29 RBIs in 287 at-bats.
He has played for Detroit, Oakland, Seattle and Cleveland in his six-year Major League career.
