(LONDON) — Despite British media reports that Sir Ian McKellen has been battling prostate cancer, a rep for the actor denies the claim.
“No he does not have prostate cancer…That was taken out of context and from an interview from years ago,” the acclaimed actor’s agent told ABC News.
According to The Sun, the actor revealed he’s had cancer for “six or seven years,” but explained, “I am examined regularly and it’s contained.”
A rep for the 73-year-old actor pointed to his appearance at the premiere of The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, set to hit theaters on Dec. 14, as evidence of his health.
