Source: Red Sox Agree to Contract With Koji Uehara
Published at(NASHVILLE, Tenn.) — Reliever Koji Uehara has agreed to a one-year deal with the Boston Red Sox, according to the Dallas Morning News.
The deal is pending a physical.
In 36 innings pitched for the Texas Rangers last season, Uehara had a 1.75 ERA, striking out 43 batters and posting a .64 WHIP.
The 37-year-old Uehara has pitched the past four seasons in the United States after starting off his career in Japan.
He joins a bullpen that includes Andrew Bailey, Alfredo Aceves, Franklin Morales, Daniel Bard, Junichi Tazawa and Franklin Morales.
