2014 Snowmobile Registrations Could Hurt Island Park Businesses
Published at | Updated at(ISLAND PARK) – Business owners in Island Park say next year’s snowmobile registration policy could negatively impact the area’s economy.
Local News 8 reports starting in 2014, snowmobilers will be required to register their machines online or at the DMV, then wait to receive their registrations by mail.
For mom-and-pop businesses that normally provide on-site registrations for snowmobilers, managers feel the change is too inconvenient and could hamper out-of-state snowmobilers especially.
State officials say riders can carry their registration receipts and still drive until the stickers arrive in their mailboxes.
