Chris Hyde/Getty Images(NEW YORK) — Australian troops are in the country’s northeast helping to clean up after severe flooding.

The death toll has risen to five after police discovered a body submerged in a creek.

The flooding, caused by the remnants of a tropical cyclone, forced thousands from their homes and businesses and left many without power, water and food.
