ESPN: Seahawks Will Sign Kicker Ryan Longwell
Published at(NEW YORK) — The Seattle Seahawks will sign veteran kicker Ryan Longwell, according to sources of ESPN’s Ed Werder, after their starting kicker Steven Hauschka injured his calf in the team’s playoff win over the Redskins Sunday.
Werder also reported that although the Seahawks have signed Longwell, Hauschka may still be activated for Sunday’s divisional round matchup against the Falcons if his calf is feeling better.
The 38-year-old Longwell last played in the NFL in 2011 for the Minnesota Vikings. In his 15 NFL seasons, Longwell has converted 83.2 percent of his field goal attempts.
