Williams has already met with the Titans and is expected to become the Titans’ assistant head coach. Before Williams can officially join the team’s staff, he must be reinstated by NFL commissioner Roger Goodell. ESPN is also reporting that Goodell could reinstate Williams as early as this week.

Williams was suspended by the NFL for all of last season for his role in the team’s bounty program. Saints head coach Sean Payton, who was also suspended the entire 2012 season, was recently reinstated by the NFL.

This will be a reunion for Williams and the Titans. Williams worked with the Titans from 1993-2000. He has already reportedly met with Titans officials as well as head coach Mike Munchak.

Munchak is more than familiar with Williams. When Munchak was playing for the then-Houston Oilers back in 1990, Williams was an assistant coach with the team. They also worked together on the team’s coaching staff together in 1994.
