Kings Place Defenseman Matt Greene on IR

Juan Ocampo/NHLI via Getty Images(LOS ANGELES) — Los Angeles Kings defenseman Matt Greene was placed on injured reserve list by the team Monday, due to a back injury he suffered during the team’s season opening loss to the Blackhawks.
TSN reported Monday that Greene will be out for the season.
The 29-year-old Greene played in all 82 regular season games for the Kings last season, scoring four goals and dishing out 11 assists.
Andrew Bodnarchuk has been called up from Manchester of the American Hockey League to take Greene’s place.
