“Lincoln” Earns Leading 10 Nominations for BAFTAs
Published at(LONDON) — The Steven Spielberg film Lincoln is the leading nominee for this year’s British Academy Film Awards, or the BAFTAs.
The drama received 10 nods on Wednesday for the U.K.’s answer to the Oscars. It is nominated for best film, leading actor for Daniel Day-Lewis, supporting actor for Tommy Lee Jones, and supporting actress for Sally Field. However, Spielberg was left out of the best-director race.
Lincoln is expected to receive several nominations Thursday morning for the Oscars. It’s the leading nominee for this Sunday’s Golden Globe Awards.
Les Miserables and Life of Pi both picked up nine BAFTA nominations. The James Bond film Skyfall has eight nods.
The BAFTAs will be presented on Feb. 10 at London’s Royal Opera House.
