Ray Nagin, Former New Orleans Mayor, Indicted on Corruption Charges
Published at(NEW ORLEANS) — He led the city of New Orleans during Hurricane Katrina, and now former New Orleans Mayor Ray Nagin has been indicted.
Prosecutors say Nagin is nothing more than a corrupt local bureaucrat. The former mayor faces nearly two dozen charges including fraud, bribery and money laundering.
Two businessmen have pleaded guilty to paying bribes to Nagin in exchange for city contracts and both are expected to testify against him if the case makes it to trial.
