(IDAHO FALLS, ID)  — Idaho Falls Power crews to begin immediate replacement of a damaged traffic signal pole following a vehicle crash yesterday.  The traffic accident, which occurred on the northeast corner of St. Clair Road and 17th Street, did considerable damage to the pole.  Idaho Falls Power will be replacing the pole tomorrow morning (Thursday January, 17th).  As a result, some minor traffic restrictions will be in place to allow the work to be done.  The temporary traffic control will consist of the following:

  • Eastbound and westbound traffic on 17th Street will see a flashing yellow signal indication.  Drivers should proceed through the intersection with caution.
  • St. Clair will be closed to all through traffic in both directions between 17th Street and 16th Street.
  • Northbound traffic arriving at the intersection from the south on St. Clair will be required to turn right onto eastbound 17th Street.  No through or left-turn movements will be allowed from that approach.
  • Westbound 17th Street will be reduced to one lane, with the westbound curb lane closed approaching St. Clair.

Crews will be setting up the traffic control beginning about 7:30am, with traffic restrictions remaining in place for three hours.
