No. 14 Kansas used 30 points from freshman Ben McLemore to stop a three game losing streak by defeating 10th-ranked Kansas State, 83-62.

Kansas (20-4) was on its first three game skid since 2005, but got a needed win over their in-state rival.

“What we were going through is what 99 percent of teams in America go through,” Kansas coach Bill Self said. “There’s only one percent that doesn’t go through this kind of stretch. And we’re spoiled because it’s been a long time since we went through one of these stretches.”

Jeff Withey added five blocks to set the all-time school record.

Kansas State (19-5) fell into a tie for first in the Big 12 conference, and were out-rebounded 39-20.
