(ISLAND PARK, ID) — An area developer has proposed plans for a tourist resort for the Island Park region. At a public meeting Wednesday evening, Jerry Greenfield presented ideas for a large-scale resort including condominiums, movie theaters, and restaurants. Given Island Park’s proximity to Yellowstone, Greenfield hopes to capitalize on the hundreds of thousands of visitors coming through eastern Idaho every year. Greenfield is working on a potential land swap with the U.S. Forest Service, noting that the resort likely wouldn’t be operable for another decade.
