Dogs Left in Overnight Drop Boxes

(IDAHO FALLS, ID)  —  The Idaho Falls Animal Shelter has seen an influx of sick or dying animals being left in overnight drop boxes in recent weeks. Puppies and dogs infected with Parvo were dropped off.  Officials believe many of the animals were personal pets, not just strays. They say the disease is preventable with a $30 vaccine, as opposed to paying upwards of $500 for treatment that doesn’t always work. The shelter charges a $22 surrender fee for those who drop animals off in person, though arrangements can be made for those struggling financially.
