Syracuse is heading to the Atlantic Coast Conference next season while UConn will stay in the Big East. The teams met 70 times as members of the Big East with Syracuse holding a 37-33 advantage.

UConn is banned from the Big East and the NCAA Tournaments this season, eliminating any opportunities the teams would have to play in the postseason.

Syracuse (20-4, 8-3 Big East) hit a dismal four of its 23 shots from 3-point-land, while UConn (17-6, 7-4 Big East) shot eight for 14 from long range.

Michael Carter-Williams, who leads the nation in assists-per-game with 8.5, had only one assist in the loss.
