It was the final game between Georgetown (21-4, 11-3 Big East) and Syracuse in the Carrier Dome as members of the Big East.  The Orange will be joining the ACC in July.

The incredible performance by Porter snapped a 38-game winning streak in the Carrier Dome for the Orange (22-5, 10-4).   The Hoyas also ended Syracuse’s 57-game home winning streak 33 years ago at Manley Field House.

C.J. Fair led the Orange with 13 points.  The 46 points scored by Syracuse was its fewest ever inside the Carrier Dome.

Porter was the only Georgetown player to score more than 7 points in the win.

New York Knicks forward Carmelo Anthony was on hand to have his No. 15 jersey retired.  He led the Orange to the schools only national championship back in 2003.
