James has now scored over thirty points in five consecutive games, a Heat franchise record.

“Anytime I can be linked with NBA history as far as stats it’s very humbling,” James said. “I know the history of the game. I know how many greats that have come through the floors of the game and who’ve paved the way for myself and my teammates, so it’s very humbling. The best thing about it is it results in us having wins and that means more to me than anything.”

The Lakers (24-28) were within two points with 8:12 to go in the fourth quarter, but Dwyane Wade scored 12 of his 30 points from that point on to seal the victory.

Kobe Bryant had 28 points, six rebounds and nine assists in the loss.
