(BOISE, ID)  —  The Idaho House of Representatives has approved a measure that will now allow telecommunications companies to cold call their customers offering more products. Most lawmakers agreed that the 13-year ban on calls from cable and Internet companies offering new services should be lifted. The companies were singled out in 2000 on grounds that they were abusing their monopoly. Supporters say the bill now gives companies the option to market faster Internet services, among other features. They say customers can still ask to be put on a do-not-call list.
