Idaho Falls Police Select New Chief

(IDAHO FALLS, ID)  —  The City of Idaho Falls and the Idaho Falls Police Department announced Wednesday that following a national search and careful consideration of a very strong group of finalists, the City has selected a new Police Chief to succeed Chief Steven Roos  after his January 4th retirement.  Capt. Mark McBride will be assuming the responsibility of the Chief position immediately.  Since Chief Roos departed, Capt. McBride who has been an IFPD Captain for the past 11 years has served as the City’s Interim Chief.

Chief McBride is an Air Force veteran that has been with IFPD since 1979.  He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Training and Development from Idaho State University as well as certificates from Northwestern University School of Police Staff and Command, the Federal Bureau of Investigation National Academy and an Idaho POST Management certificate.
