With the loss, the Hurricanes (22-4, 13-1 ACC), saw their unbeaten streak in conference play come to an end.  Their highest-ever national ranking is also likely to become history.

“Overall, we weren’t prepared before the game and they came out and punched us in the mouth,” guard Shane Larkin said.

C.J. Harris led Wake Forest (12-14, 5-9) with 23 points.  The Demon Deacons built a double-digit lead in the second half and never looked back.

Durand Scott led Miami in defeat with 17 points, all coming in the second half.

Miami became the last school in the six BCS conferences to suffer its first league loss.  It remains in first place in the ACC standings.
