No. 5 Duke Crushes Florida State
Published at(TALLAHASSEE, Fla.) — Duke got off to a fast start against the Seminoles, and cruised the rest of the way.
Seth Curry scored 21 points to lead the fifth-ranked Blue Devils past Florida State, 79-60 on Saturday afternoon.
Duke (19-2) got off to an 11-0 run to start the game and never looked back. They had a 20-point lead at the half en route to a dominating win.
Florida State (12-9) got 14 points from freshman Aaron Thomas, but gave up 11 3-pointers and allowed Duke to shoot 60 percent from the floor.
Quinn Cook scored 18 points and made four 3-pointers for the Blue Devils. “We wanted to throw the first punch today and send a statement,” Cook said. “We have great shooters on our team.”
