Report: Khloe Kardashian Not Returning to “The X Factor”
Published at(NEW YORK) — The X Factor will reportedly not be renewing its contract with Khloe Kardashian to co-host the show.
The New York Post quotes an insider as saying, “They are asking Mario [Lopez] to come back, but not Khloe.”
Kardashian’s reported exit as co-host follows the departure of Britney Spears and L.A. Reid from the judges’ table.
Entertainment Weekly reported on Monday that a spokesperson for the show disputed the Post story, saying, “The producers have not yet made the talent decisions for this year.”
A representative for Kardashian also denied the report, according to Variety.
Meanwhile, British singer Cheryl Cole, who was dumped as an X Factor judge at the beginning of season one, is reportedly in talks to return to the panel. Cole filed a $2.3 million lawsuit against the show last December, claiming producers owed her money after replacing her early in the first season. It is believed her reinstatement as a judge could be part of a settlement.
Simon Cowell has previously stated that he regretted letting the former Girls Aloud singer go.
A spokesman for The X Factor told the New York Post, “The producers have not yet made the talent decisions for this year.”
